Access to transport

Where you choose to live may depend upon your transport needs. You might live near a bus stop, with accessible buses servicing your area. You might live close to an accessible train station. Or you might drive yourself and be prepared to live in the country.

Another thing to consider is cost. Where you live will influence how much money you spend on transport. Things to consider are:

  • it may be cheaper to live further away from the centre of a city or town, but you might spend more on transport getting to work and having fun
  • or you may choose to live closer to the centre of the city or town and use transport savings on affording the extra rent

These are choices you will have to make and only you can know how important access to reliable transport is in "finding a good place to live".

As you can see, "a good place to live" will depend on which forms of transport are available in the area and whether you are happy to access various types of transport.
