Having fun

To have fun is to enjoy life and the things you are doing. Sometimes, after huge changes in your life, you might find some of the things you enjoyed before your accident are not the same now.

But you can find other ways of being involved and having fun and it is important that you get into some serious fun-seeking habits! If you particularly like getting out to sporting events or cultural shows and performances, the National Companion Card Scheme has been developed as a way to promote fair ticketing for people with disabilities. If the nature of your disability means that you can only attend events and shows with the help of a carer then the Companion Card allows your carer to have a free ticket. Check the eligibility criteria before applying for a Companion Card. Not all events and venues will support the Companion Card so make sure you check when you are making a booking or take a look at the current places where the Companion Card is accepted.

These web pages below are about getting out and enjoying yourself; staying home and enjoying yourself; or just having fun. We hope the information gives you some new ideas! Later on you can also take a look at the Queensland Government's website on getting out and about for people with disabilities.
